Malestroit - a beautiful medieval town situated on the Nantes-Brest canal .There are numerous restaurants dotted around a central square and supermarkets can be found close Bicycles or canoes can be hired for an alternate sightseeing method or pay a visit to the Museum of the Resistance close by in St Marcel.

La Gacilly, the town of the artisan, stroll through its tiny streets packed with the workshops & galleries of the local artistans.The town is adorned with the most spectacular floral displays and there are plenty of restaurants situated along the banks of the canal to sit at & watch the world go by.La Gacilly is also home to the famous Yves Rocher perfume factory- well worth a visit.

Josselin - famous for its cliff top chateau is well worth a visit. The chateau,though still a family home is open to the public and is full of priceless antiques of the revolution era. Eat  in the restaurant overlooking the river & chateau or in the cafes around the church square.

 

The pretty fishing port of Vannes can be found on the Golf of Morbihan.Shop in the boutiques within the town walls or sit outside in the many restaurants around the Marina.Alternately take a boat tour around the bay and vist the islands or simply find your own little beach along the coast line and relax.This area of coast line boasts the some of the worlds most stunning sandy beaches.

 

Other towns worth mentioning are Rochfort on Terre, Roche- Bernard, La Baule (the St Tropez of Brittany), all seeped in history and perfect for sightseeing.

For the children visit The Farm of the World at Carentoir & the Aquarium in Vannes or spend the afternoon at the Lac du Dac , a man made lake & beach where you can hire pedaloes & canoes, play golf or simply swim in the safe clear water.

Hire bicycles, take the sculpture trail at Reminiac or visit the ancient Monolithic village & stones in Monteneuf. The choice is endless!
